Good morning, from a chilly Shanklin! We had a bit of fog that hung around all day yesterday, it wasn;t nice, dont like fog. One of the pitfalls of living by the sea I guess.
So it's Saturday and a new challenge on
"LEss is More" This week, ebing the first of the month is Colour and we have chosen
We are also sponsored by
WOW! Embossing Powder offer over 160 different colours of embossing powders:
Embossing Glitter, Metallic, Puff and Ultra High to name a few collections.
WOW! also sell Fab Foils, embossing inks, embossing pens, bonding powder,
flock, stamps and stamping accessories.
Neutrals to me means NO sparkle, glitter or bling...SOB SOB!
I decided to use kraft for my first card. I stamped the Agapanthus, from the Kanban set I used on ym personal blog. It;s a super little sheet, available from Create & Craft only at the moment, I think. I stamped in Versamark then embossed in WOW Pepper embossing powder. For any of you that dont know, WOW embossing powders, are fantastic! I never used to be a big fn of heat embossing, but, WOw have changed my mind competely. Whatever they are made of give a superb finish, they seem finer somehow and are available in The most gorgeous colours!

Holding a dark brown pece os paper the same size as my kraft panel, I tore the bottom, then placed with the brown just down slightly. I prefer the ripped edge to be roughly the same shape. I roughly coloured the Agapanthus using my Chocolate Chip marker pen.
The brad [cou;dn;t resist snucking a little bit of bling on]is Stampin up, poked through, then Linen thread, also Stampin up wound round the brad, then secured behind before sticking. The sentiment is from You are Loved, again Stampin up.
It is nothing like I planned in my head! How often does that happen!!
Looking at the photo, I planned my squares, roughly first on paper, then cut to size. In Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Crumb Cke and Sahara Sand.I then used Stampin Up French Foliage and embossing folders [Swiss Dots and Square Lattice]to create different textures. This again is heat embossed in Pepper.
[As you can imagine, all my other powders are all sparkly and shiny, SO not Neutrals week!]

Great colour theme - your cards are lovely. I particularly like the second one with the squares of card - look brilliant.
You've blown me away with the second card Mandi...love, love, LOVE that layout. It's brilliant. Think you've convinced me that asymmetric is good :)
Hope you have fun with the Daisy fields stamp - it's a versatile one. What is the leaves die you used on last weeks card? I'd love to purchase one of those.
Okay - off to raid my stash for neutrals now, hee! hee!
Hugs, Sharon xx
Two lovely cards, my favourite is the first one. The stamps is lovely and I have one similar so might use this as an inspiration, if you don't mind.

Both are great cards but the one that wins for me is the one with all the sqaures.

Fabulous cards - can't choose between them
These are both just stunning Mandi! I think the agapanthas just have the edge for me but I'm very intrigued by the 'mood board' feel of the second. Vicky x
Lovely cards again this week, Mm I too struggled with no bling but really am surprised at how much I like mine. Oh we had horrible wet fog yesterday too, then sun then rain, busy weather day, Hazelxox
Two gorgeous cards Mandi, hard to choose between them! Love the brad on the first one :)

Lovely cards - I especially love the decorated squares! Thanks for another great challenge!
your first card is looking warm and soft => a great coming out
Great cards and very challenging theme. Tend to go for brights so this one made me think!
I love, love both your cards, Mandi, but IMHO, that color block card is not a card, it is a sculpture, a work of art. You seriously need to frame that and hang it on a wall! WOW.
Beautiful cards Mandi, love them both but think the block card is my fave

Like them both Mandi. The torn edges on the first with the brad and twine and the different details on the squares on the second. x
Two super cards so different and wonderful in its own special way. Terrific inspiration for the rest of us XOXO Zoe
I love a torn edge...and the embossing looks fab! I totally understand about a card not coming together like I have it in my head! LOL!
The mosaic collage look is one of my favourites, so I have to say I like that one best.
I need to crack open my embossing powders again. I keep forgetting to use them. {hanging head in shame}

Dear Mandi,
I love your layered card with all the different shades of sqaures. A new idea and one that could have been used for 'using up scraps', too.
Hi Mandi
What a gorgeous card, I really like it and the colours. Thanks for another inspiring week.

Darn it, should have looked at yours before I made mine as I went all glittery and then read that that's not neutral!!! Oh well ;-)
I love both your cards but the first is just STUNNING!

Thanks Mandi - am definately not too young for Spirograph - I still have my original one from the 70s. I hadn't thought about the dies resemblance to one but I bet that was why I was drawn to the shape!

Hi Mandi
Two beautiful cards & for me the one with squares just has the edge. I agree with someone else who said it should be mounted as a picture

Lovely cards. Awesome sketch in your second card Mandi!
I love your both of your cards. But the second one with all the squares really caught my eye. Very neat card.
I love both of these cards but like Eloise above, the squares really caught my eye!
Both fantastic cards Mandi and loving this neutrals challenge, have been making quiet a few cards with that fab Kanban set. Fantastic inspiration :) xx
Neutrals make me happy - you nailed it!! These are gorgeous!
Hope the "bling" withdrawel symptoms aren't too bad....saying that, you make amazing cards with or without them, both wonderful!
Diane
Mandi, these are beautiful. The colour and texture blocks look great, and the agapanthus are so elegant in the neutral colours.
Love both of your cards, Mandi. Fab colours to work with. I love flowers, so your agapanthus really appeals to me, but I also love your second card, which is like a piece of modern art x
Mandi, Love the chocolate agapanthus and twine. Very soft and subtle.
Hi Mandi! I really love the agapanthus. The torn edge with the black really looks marvelous and I love the brad and twine treatment so much. Just wonderful!
I really love the block design as well. The composition of neutrals is just so great along with the embellishments you've used.
Very nice card!
