"Less is More" Week 52

A very good morning to you all

Well, we don't have the snow they are threatening...yet! Oh I do hope we don't as we have my Stepson's wedding to go to on the mainland 23rd February, dread to think what we'd do if we can't get across!

I've been busy with my wedding orders, am off today to the shop I design for as I have three appointments for new business. Loads in my book about to start too. Exciting stuff!

Onto "Less is More" this week it's Sketch

We are going to be strict this time and say we want the sketch used as is, not rotated.

As you can see I made a boo boo and put the sentiment in the wrong place...DON'T do as I do!!!

As England are on the brink of snow, I thought I'd remind us Spring is around the corner!!

For my card I used some ribbed kraft crd [but turned that inwards] I made a 'DL' [doube length card from a sheet of A4. I stamped the beautiful branch from the Stampin up set 'Easter Blossoms' in Soft Suede, as i thoguht that toned in well with the kraft. The blue 'sky' is Bashful Blue, also Stampin Up. the little dabs of pink on the blossom are with a pink watercolour pencil. I added the little blossoms as we constantly see them lying in our garden in Spring.

Another DL card. I stamped polka dots and stripes from Stampin Up, then punched 1" circles from them and from 3 colourss, added my obligatory gem! The FAB sentiment is Hobby Art.

"Less is More" Week 51

Good morning, is it Saturday already!

We had another busy week last week with lots of submissions. Even though it means a lot of work for Chrissie and I we do love to see the entries in their hundreds! 

Theme week on "Less is More" and we have chosen

"Cut it out"

By that we really mean we want to see an aperture/hole in your card!

As I still have my wedding head on I kept to that for my design this week.

I made a 6x6" card from white hammer card, then cut an aperture from the centre of the front flap, with a heart die. This particular die is Nellie Snellen Multi Frames Dies Hearts.  I used the very plain die from this fab set. I printed Wedding day in Scriptina font which I'd previously printed onto ivory paper from a wonderful set by Pink Petticoat Vintage Rose I used the big roses background in Blossom for one and Ocean for the other. As the paper is ivory I punched daisies from ivory card in 2 sizes. Placing them, I did the top and bottom first, so that I kept the shape and put pearls in the centres to finish.

                     

I am attending the first of the year's wedding fares on Sunday, so have been frantically prepping for that. It's exciting times as it;s the first for the shop I design for. Will let you know how it goes and post some piccies.

"Less is More" Week 50

Can you believe it's week 50 already! We are almost at our year anniversary...WOW!

Last week was really busy, both with "Less is More" and my wedding business.

I now sub-contract for a shop and I am picking up more and more work. Love it, but, there arent enough hours in the day!

Onto this week at "Less is More" It is One Layer and our chosen challenge this time is

BIRDS

I don't have too many bird stamps, but, I do have my FAB Stampin Up Aviary set,

 I love it's quirkiness! It is such a fun set.

The sentiment is from a retired set as is the Pink colour. The other 2 colours are Pear Pizazz and Black. The branch is from another set called Hopeful Thoughts. I used the markers to ink the stamp, so I could colour the stem in black, the leaves green and the flowers pink. I chose to add a little interest with the punched flower heads and a few little trails of liquid pearls.

Lots of white space!

You will see from the little close u below I drew a little line, as if a perch for the birdie to sit on. I really didnt eant him sat on the bottom, just near the bottom, so didn;t want it to look as if I'd mis-aligned him!

Even more white space on this one! Hopefully you can see it, taking the photo was pants!

The birgs are stamped in Tempting Turquiose, Pink Passion [retired] and Rich Razzlebury. 

I also did this one, but, again I don't know what it is with my photograhs this week!

"Less is More" Week 49

Well a very good morning and a very happy new year to you all

We have had THE best week here, with my stepson Danny, Jess and our gorgeous grandson Joe. He is such a good boy too, hardly cries, so happy, always ready with a smile!

He has totally stolen my heart, which aches for him now that they have gone. It shows me how a Mother's love feels, something so precious huh!

However, I do like to get back to 'normal' and what better way than with a new challenge on "Less is More"

Colour week and

Predominently Purple

Not one of my favourite colours at all! I guess I could offer the advice of if you need to make something in a colour that doesn't sirt well with you, then make onein one that does and then replicalte it...If you have time of course!

My card base is Stampin Up (Contact me here )Rich Razzlebury, the stamping is Elegant Eggplant, as is the embossed lines rectangle. I also stamped the sentiment in Elegant Eggplant too. The twine is in a matching shade from Pretty Little Ribbon Shop

The stamps are a new purchase Personal Impressions, Marion Emberson designs which I got form QVC.

This other card, I made in a similar vein to this picture I amde my Mum for Christmas here

But I'm not completely happy with it in these colours, I'm not a purple person so not overly happy, ~I much prefer the picture in the ivory tone!

All supplies are Stampin Up Elegant Eggplant card base, Rich Razzlebury used for some butterflies, which are cut 'n' emboss ones.

Happy new year everyone, hope you all had a good one. whether you celebrated or just stayed home.

Isn't i t hard to get back i the swing! I found it a striggle to get this card made lol

We have our beautiful Grandson Joey here, Jess and Danny [Mummy & Daddy] too, until Thursday evening. 

Precious times.

Never having given birth myself, those smiles from little Joey now melt my heart!

We are on baby sitting dutes today as Danny & Jess are off shopping and cinema.

I made this card for a friend of mine to give her Mum

The paper is from Create with TLC these are Sumer Tea, they are gorgeous, the colour palette is stunning. I've glittered n places, not sure if it shows up or not.

The flowers are Marianne and the leaves Crealies I got from Joanna Sheen, 

who always give a second to non serivce!

Fonts used are Post it Note and Honey Script

It fits the chalenge over on Pile it on #Anything Goes [I think]
