"Less is More" Week 65

This is a recording...
I'm not here....
I've run away to a tropical island where there are NO WEDDINGS!!!!

ha ha

Oh boy I've been snowed under this week!
Good fun though, have to say!

I really am not at my desk, I'm over on the mainland and bringin my beautiful grandson Joe back to stay with us for a week while his mummy and daddy go away on a cruise to celebrate their marriage that took place in February!
Being 10 months old I can't see me getting too much done next week, but, I wil have to grasp bits of time while I can as I have stationery to make for 3 weddings for next Satirday.

Onto Less is More and
Sketch week and 2 sketches to choose from

Here is mine

I took my inspiration form Ariel The Wax Fruit Company
she is The Queen of this kind of image.
The Woodware 'Gerbera' stamp is large, approx 10cm square. I stamped it onto some card using Versafine Onyx black ink, then watercoloured with a plum colour pencil. I wanted the central panel approx 7cm sq and the middle of the gerbera slightle set towards the bottom. I kindastarted it by eye and trimmed to the desired square size. Glittered with a Zig amarker to finish. I did some extra black dots in the centre with a Stamoin Up pen. The sentiment is Penny Black

Thanks for popping by, I wil post some pics of our little poppet later

Have a good week, Icertainly will!

"Less is More" Week 64

Good morning
Oh boy I'm busy with wedding work again...blah blah blah
We are also still celebrating, this time my hubby Steve's 50th Monday! We are off out tonight with a big group of friends, it's also one of the girlie's brthday Tuesday so a double celebration tonight!
Next Friday we are off to the mainland to Steve's family to continue the celebrations, then we bring our lovely little baby Joe back with us for a week. How lucky are we!!
Inbetween all this I have a zillion invitations to make...
Any volunteers? ha ha

Ok so onto "Less is More" Week 64
Our theme is so easy peasy

I've made the piccy huge cos otherwise, you'd miss the charm!

I use charms a fair bit, although with peer pressure again I sat for a few hours wondering what to do! This is basically a DL card turned lenthways. I then cut Sizzix hearts in various ivory and black card, in different shapes and sizes. I then over stamped some and embossed the black primitive one in a Cuttlebug folder. I randomly placed them along the base of the card and attached them using 3d pads or PVA glue to give plenty of dimension.  The charm is suspended on some Stampin' Up Twine. I like the look of the twine, as this overall effect has a vintage feel. If you can see the heart has a tiny rose on there, it is SO cute.
Charms and mulberry rose are from Ribbon Girl Ribbon Girl is an Aladins cave of so many fabulous goodies, you loose yourself for ages delving into the different sections of gorgeousness

Not a great deal of white space, but there is in comparison to the shape of the card.

Setting up a wedding this afternoon. A wonderful venue here onthe island
The Botanical Gardens. The couple were hoping to marry on the beach, but looking at the weather, I suspect not. Not to mention the high tide!!
May take my snorkel!!

Have a great day. thanks for popping by

Best Laid Plans.......

I was due to be at a wedding fare weekend today, but, as of last night it's all change and I am
 now home all day!
It's kinda handy as I can play catch up after our few days with our kids!

Made this card SO different for me, not too sure where these colours even came from, not to mention a card base that isn't white!!!

Used a Gina K set Botanicals. I discovered this set from the FAB Vicki who is on Gina K design team, which is no surprise!
The card is Stampin Up Rich Razzlebury, inks are So Saffron, black and Rich Razzlebury.
It is hard to tell but I used Versamark and White Pearl WOW embossing powder first to stamp the fporal branch and if you can see the script on the left hand side, Once heat embossed I stmaped again in black and RR Then using ink daubers rubbed the So Saffronm ink from the edges, blending lighter towards the centre
The panel is 3d mounted onto the card

Thanks for stopping by
Have a good day, I will aswel as trying NOT to imagine my buddies at Ally Pally lol

"Less is More" Week 63

My gosh it's Saturday already! I just do not knwo where this week has gone to.
We have had some excitiment in the form of an Engagement!

My Stepdaughter Samantha is now engaged to her lovely boyfriend, well I should say Fiance Dean. They are the sweetest couple.
Den arranged everything as a surprise. They went to London on Tuesday 10th, which is their 5th anniversary together. Stayed at Claridges, had dinner in the Gordon Ramsey restuarant. He opted not to 'do the deed' in there as he thought Sam would prefer somewhere without lots of eyes on her. So they walked along the embankment, he tried for a boat trip, but, it was too late, then suggestedc The London Eye, "No been on there" he said he was slightly panicking at this point! They then got to 'The Wobbly Bridge' and as they walked across he proposed....awww how special. Of course Sam said yes and immediately text her whole mobile phone book!
The next day they went to Hatton Garden and she chose her ring, it's a real Bobby Dazzler!
They are planning to get married 2014 or maybe 2015. Lots of time for Daddy to save!! lol

Thursday they arrived here to stay for a few days, last night we went to dinner at a favourite resturant of ours

Hopefully you are still with me as I'm finnally onto my "Less is More" card
it's one layer and

I am always doodling, specially when on the phone. Nothing pretty or atristic but, always intricate. Why is that? So Zentangle seemed the way to go for me!
Flower stamped using an old Anita's stamp, then filled in the scribbled petals with patterns.
The Happy Birthday is Penny Black

No Ally Pally for me...sob sob, I'm at a wedding fare tomorrow...
My Scoopy [Sue] is there today, sure lots of you will meet up. Have fun, whoever is going!

Thanks for stopping by and your FAB comments

Have a good week

"Less is More" Week 62

Morngn everyone and Happy Easter!

I have had a bit of a funny week, felt pretty rubbish after I had what I think was food poisoning Sunday, then felt so week and lethargic. I'm working today in the shop and have a ton to catch up on after that! So nto really a restful weekend, although hubby and I are big fans of The Masters [golf] so will be glued to that. Very patriotically I root for Tiger Woods!!!

Week 62 and Colour
Three Shades of Green
We are sponsored by the Ribbon Girl

I created my three shades of green using Stampin Up ink pads Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Certainly Celery. I vut a sqwuare of about 9cm and then using the emboss resist technique using WOW Clear Embossing Powder, I knew roughly how big I wanted the panels so cut them to suit. Using a retired Stampin Up sentiment set I stanped in the darkest shade, Old Olive. The swirl is a new pruchase for me Cheery Lyn Tropical Flourish I got here
Finsihing off with a couple of punched daises and pearls.

For my second card, also a 6" square I used a Crafters Workshop Dot Burst stencil and marked out the larged circle. Then stamped a dotty circle form a Stampin Up Cricle Circus stamp in Lucky Limeade. I then sadded the puinched retro flowers to the largest circle dots in a mint card. FInally marked out the middle circle adn pinched tiny flowers in a Teal card, then the same Stampin Up sentiment to finish off, also in Lucky Limeade.

Righty ho I'm off shortly, have a good day and a fabulous weekend
don't eat too much chocolate!
