A Wedding Card

Hi there

Another lovely morning here in Shanklin. Not stonking hot so much more comfortable.

Went to see our idol Joe Longthorne last night. 

He was sensational!

Were due to go to see Tom Jones at Osborne housse this evening, but, he has cancelled due to illness. Such a shame for all concerned. I'm not a huge fan, but, the open air concerts in such an idyllic setting of Osborne House is fantastic!

So onto my wedding card

My spec was just ivory, very pale pink and peach. The colours actually look a bit brighter than they were.

"Less is More" Week 78

Good morning from a sunny Shanklin,

Fill of Olympic excitement in the UK,
the opening ceremony was....different!! It got better.....
clever, but, for me it was a little 'bitty' and SO drab at the beginning.
I think it was one of those that was better if you were there.

Over on "Less is More" we have a sketch

Lots of scope here, but, go careful as it still neds to be clean & simple.

On that note here is my card....

This stamp is from Stampendous, I've had it forever! I do love the simple design and quirky line art.

I prefer it uncoloured, with just little elements using liquid pearls and teeny tiny punched flowers. I press hard into the centres of the small  punched flower to bunch them up.
Rather a big bouquet but I like it!

Personal matters...

My throat cleared up yesterday, THANK YOU Valerie for suggesting the soluable Aspirin.

I have been totally usless lately am SO SO busy with my wedding business. I am really sorry.......a huge thank you to Chrissie for covering for me AGAIN.

Enough said, I know I must bore you to tears making excuses

The funeral for John was 'amazing' Wonderfully sad, but, one I don't think we will ever experience again. John was a paramaedic. There were over 500 people there. a band from the British Legion, from where John had been a drummer. The paramedics were led in military sytle, standing to attention. The band played the last post as his coffin was lowered. THE most fantastic send off for ...their words 'a hero'

John was loved and admired by many.

I wish him eternal peace.

"Less is More" Week 77

I'm not at a wedding set up today, we did the one I was involved in yesterday.

I'm not too well at the moment, suffering tonsillitis which is painful. Being a bit below par my card is too.

Gone are the days when we are weeks ahead for our challenge cards. Would have been handy for this week!

Our theme week is

There was a UK game show Can't Cook, Won't Cook

Well that is me Can't Sew, Won't Sew!

Mega simple, hand drawn and cut hearts, hand drawn swirl and pricked, then stitched....

which took me an hour lol

I used what Mum called a 'crowbar' ha ha

We have our cousins hubby Johns funeral Wednesday next week.

 He was a paramedic and apparently it;s going to be a huge send off. 

He was loved by so many.

"Less is More" Week 76

Here I'm not again. Today I am at a hotel for a quick set up. I then need to scoot back rather sahrpish as they are closing my return route for us to parade the Olympic torch. 

I am hoping I get a little glimpse as I come through just before the precession!

SO exciting that we are hosting the games....again!

Although I'm an even numbers kinda gal I do love three on my cards.
 Be it colour, elements, I just think it works perfectly.

"Less is More" Week 75 Colour

Hello and good morning from a rainy Shanklin!

I'm here today....not at a wedding set up today. Most were done yesterday and I'm not required to help today. I do have some invitations to drop off later and a trip to Tesco, then some dreaded ironing....deep joy lol.

Over on "Less si More" it is the first of the month...July eek! and colour week.

We have chosen

** This is SO sparkly IRL - such a shame it doesn't show **

This stamp is one I love! Embossed with WOW  Sparkle. Said it before but WOW powders are SO fine, they are brilliant and SO sparkly! I printed the sentiment from the computer as I wanted birthday wishes, as this is a wish 'blowy flower' - dandelion

My second card, is slighly more embellished, but, still plenty of blank white space.
The strip of embossing is from a Cuttlebug 5" x 7" folder Deb Divine

I printed the sentiment on the somputer Murray Hill font in gold I like to use RGB colours of 175/140/69 for my gold printing. I cut the sentiment using a labels die from Stampin Up, then arranged a bunch of punched and shaped flowers and leaves.

Pearls and liquid pearls to finish.

Thsi last one is a Hobby Art Happy Birthday and a Stampendous Ruffled Bloom stamp. I've had this for years, but, it is still available as a cling. There is another plainer flower I use all the time too I think is just called Bloom
Stamped in versamark and then embosssed in WOW Gold Sparkle embossing powder.
I stamped the flower onto a piece of card., then cut out, shaped wiht my fingers for dimension and stuck lightly to the corner of the card. added a few drops of liquid pearls randomly onto the daisy and the card

Birthday Card

It's my Mum's birthday next week and I have to make cards for her from others.

She obviously sees pretty much every card I make, so I worry about what I'm doing so she isn't fed up! [Not that she ever is, bless her]
